Sr. Human Resources Business Partner

Vertisource HR is currently seeking a Sr. Human Resources Business Partner to join our team!  As a fellow team member, you will be responsible for performing HR-related duties on a professional level while working closely with senior management and fellow business clients.  This position carries out responsibilities in the following functional areas: workers' compensation, benefits administration, employee relations, training and development, performance management, recruiting and onboarding, policy creation and implementation, and employment law compliance. A few key responsibilities of the position are:

  • Provide human resources support both internally to VertiSource HR’s employees as well as our Clients as needed, to include benefits administration, employee relations, training and development and employment law compliance.
  • Research and provide precise HR-guidance in employment law across several states (Arizona, California, Colorado, Idaho, Nevada, Utah, Texas and Washington)
  • Partner with employees, clients, and client employees to communicate various human resource policies and procedures, to include state and federal laws, standards, and regulations.
  • Maintain compliance with state and federal regulations concerning employment.
  • Manage workers' compensation to include administration, claims management and Client relations.
  • Manage occupational safety and health compliance, communication, and training.
  • Assist with affirmative action programs; filing of EEO-1 report annually while maintaining other records, reports, and logs to ensure compliance with state and federal regulations.
  • Assist with 401k change reporting and client administration.
  • Investigate and resolve employee complaints, to include allegations in discrimination and harassment.
  • Represent the Company and its Clients in unemployment claims to include providing responses and appeals and attending hearings.
  • Facilitate and provide training to Company and Client employees to include management training, harassment training, and any other trainings requested by the CEO or the Client.
  • Conduct job analysis and creates job descriptions for Clients as needed.
  • Create and administer recruiting processes for Clients to include posting job ads, screening resumes and coordinating interviews with Clients.
  • Handle all HR-related administrative tasks to include all state unemployment documentation, wage garnishments and court orders, verifications of employment and other HR-related correspondence.
  • Maintain client and employee files.
  • Assist team members with other duties as assigned.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • 5-7 years of proven ability to navigate end-to-end HR function.
  • 3+ years of Microsoft Office experience.
  • Proficient with payroll software.
  • Strong accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Proven experience in an HR position in a fast-paced environment required.
  • Strong knowledge of employment laws.
  • Sense of urgency background with a high volume of transactions.
  • Excellent understanding of common HR procedures.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Able to work effectively with minimal supervision.
  • Physically able to work seated in front of a computer for long hours at a time.
  • Ability to efficiently complete tasks and projects while incurring interruptions.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

Education /Experience: Bachelor's degree in business or HR preferred.

Supervisory Responsibility This position has no supervision responsibilities.

Work Environment While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works in an office setting with visits to clients in various industries and various locations.

Physical demands associated with the occasional driving and/or other transportation to client sites described below are also a part of this job.
